Chhattisgarh re-introduces DC system
Raipur, Apr 14 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government has posted four Indian Administrative Service officers as divisional commissioners (DC), re-introducing the system after a gap of about five years.
Secretary and Commr (Labour) B L Agrawal was made Raipur's DC while Bastar's Collector Ganesh Shankar Mishra was promoted and posted as Bastar's DC.
Registrar (Cooperatives) Shiv Kumar Tiwari became Bilaspur's DC while Director (Tribal Welfare) Manoj Kumar Pingua was made Sarguja's DC.
After the state came into existence in November 2000, the then Congress government headed by Mr Ajit Jogi abolished posts of DCs arguing that those had no relevance in a small state.
