Six killed in Maoist attack on Jhajha railway station
Jamui, Apr 13 (UNI) At least six people, including four security personnel, were killed and 12 injured when Maoists attacked Jhajha railway station under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway (ECR) this evening.
Railway sources here said two personnel of State Auxiliary Police (SAP), two of the Government Rail Police (GRP), including an ASI, a vendor and a porter were killed in the attack.
The sources said 12 people, including the officer in-charge of the rail police station Jamui Shakti Verma were injured in the attack.
The Maoists also looted arms and ammunition, belonging to the GRP and the ticket booking counter.
Meanwhile, railway sources at Danapur headquarters said all communication links with Jhajha railway station has completely been snapped.
Plying of trains on Up and Down lines were snapped and several express and passenger trains, including Rajdhani express were stranded at different places on the route.
According to the sources, additional companies of CRPF and RPF had been dispatched to the spot.
Meanwhile, administrative and police officials, including police superintendent of Jamui Vinay Kumar have arrived on spot and local police have already cordoned off the station.
