Solan, Apr 13 (UNI) In a case of road rage in Himachal Pradesh, a lawyer stabbed an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot near the famous tourist resort of Kasauli in Solan district of the state on Friday a top district police official said.
Flight Lt Anubhav Rao from the Ambala Air Force Base was stabbed several times by local lawyer Hari Dass Tanwar following an altercation over giving pass to a car, Solan ASP S R Rana said.
He said the IAF officer was on his way back after a brief visit to Shimla town along with his three friends when they had an altercation with the lawyer over allowing the vehicles to pass near Kasauli town.
After chasing each other for a few kms, they had a fight after which Tanwar, who was drunk, took out a sharp edged weapon and stabbed Rao and his friend Sameer Yadav several times, Mr Rana said.
He said Rao was rushed to the military hospital here from where he was referred to the Chandimandir'' Western Command Hospital near Chandigarh, where he was declared brought dead.
Tanwar, who has been arrested and charged with murder, was travelling with his mother, wife and children when the incident occurred, the ASP added.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
