Governor greets people on Baisakhi
Jammu, Apr 13 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen S K Sinha (Retd) today greeted the people on the occasian Baisakhi.
The Governor said the festivals like Baisakhi reflect the composite culture and rich ethos of the country, which is a unique symbol of unity in diversity in the world.
''Let's celebrate this festival to promote the social and national unity of our great country,'' he said.
The day also marks beginning of the New Year of the Indian calendar and in various parts of the country it signifies the start of harvest, bringing farmers fruit of their toil.
The Governor also felicitated the people on the eve of the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar and paid rich tributes to him for his immence contribution towards the nation and uplift of weaker sections.
