Hyderabad, Apr 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today turned nostalgic when he recalled his 'Prajaprasthanam Padayatra', undertaken from Chevalla in neighbouring Rangareddy district exactly five years ago.
While participating in the Prajapatham programme, launched to know about people's problems and get closer to the people by resolving them, Dr Reddy went down the memory lane, recalling the 1,500-km-long march he had undertaken to Ichapuram in the hot summer of 2003, for 64 days.
It may be recalled that the yatra had helped him get closer to people by listening to their problems and infused a ray of hope to the drought-hit farming community.
Dr Reddy's experiences enabled him to evolve pro-peasant policies, including free power scheme and massive Jalayagnam (irrigation initiative), after coming to power.
