Tata steel launches safety campaigns
Jamshedpur, Apr 12 (UNI) The safety department of steel major Tata Steel today announced the roll out of theme-based quarterly safety campaigns to become a complete accident-free enterprise.
The campaign for the first quarter (April 08-June 08) was launched by, Tata Steel, Chief operating office H M Nerukar along with, Tata Workers Union president Raghunath Pandey.
The function was also attended by Jharkhnd, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, A K Singh, and Jamshedpur, B A Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nerurkar stressed on the importance of safety and spoke about Tata Steel's concentrated attempt to make the company an accident-free zone, ''Safety is foremost for us.
Unless we have safe working environment for our workers and employees, no achievement made by the company is worthy of a compliment.
''This quarterly campaign is a method to identify unsafe practices and remove them permanently. This theme based campaign will act as an effective tool to create awareness about the importance of safety and remove any prevalent unsafe method,'' he added.
The theme for the campaign is 'Eliminating Commonly Accepted Unsafe Practice'. The objective of the campaign is to identify any unsafe practices and eliminate it through the PDCA cycle.
A mobile safety exhibition 'Safety on Wheel' has also been developed on this occasion based on the theme.
