Agra, Apr 12: With terrorists threat looming large over Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's visit to the Taj City on April 15, unprecedented security arrangements have been made ahead of her arrival.

Ms Mayawati is visiting the Taj City to inaugurate the annual Bhimnagri Mahotsava.

Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) had been directed to maintain round the clock vigil and alert senior officials in case they get any inputs, DIG Kamla Saxena told UNI here today.

Several watch towers, control room and temporary police stations had been set up, besides a posse of police garrisoned around the Mahotsava centre, he informed.

The security cover had been prepared in three phases. Three parkings had been established at the Mahotsava centre at Madhunagar, Samri Ka Taal and Devri road for the VVIPs and common man. City police had also been directed to maintain round the clock vigil, Mr Saxena added.

Security had also been heightened across the district in wake of Ramnavmi and Dr Bheemrao Ambedkar Jayanti falling contemporaneously on April 14.

UP DGP Vikram Singh and principal secretary (home) J N Chamber had already taken stock of the security arrangements.
