Patna, Apr 12: The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) today urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to convene an all party meeting on the issue of escalating prices and demanded stern action against the hoarders and blackmarketeers.

BPCC chief spokesperson Premchandra Mishra said here the common people were reeling under the burden of soaring prices of the essentials, and Mr Kumar, who had convened an all party meeting on the power-crisis and developmental issues, had ironically failed to take action against the blackmarketeers and hoarders during his two and half-year regime.

He alleged that the state government was indulging in the 'blame game' politics over the issue of steep hike in the prices of essentials and trying to malign the image of the Central government on the issue.

He said the hoarders and blackmarketeers were roaming free and the people facing the pangs of high prices, caused mainly due to hoarding and blackmarketing.

Mr Mishra furher alleged that the BJP was playing a dubious role by engineering the scarcity of the essentials resulting in the price rise and demanded the government to take action against the real culprits.
