New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Criticizing the UPA ministers and leaders for making contradictory statements on the issue of inflation, which has hit the commonman across the country, the BJP today demanded the Government to come out with the White Paper on the same.

Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy today referred to the contradictory statements by various ministers including Kapil Sibal, Lalu Prasad, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, Prithviraj Chavan, Veerappa Moily and Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari.

''One holds global phenomenon responsible for inflation, second blames it on hoarding and blackmarketing in the States. The third calls it is the handiwork of traders, fourth describes inflation as an imported phenomenon, fifth says bird flu responsible for rise in prices of fish in West Bengal and the last feels that Beijing Olympics is responsible for rocketting prices of steel and cement, which is having a spiralling affect on all commodities,'' Mr Rudy said.

The fact, he said, was that the economist Prime Minister had utterly failed to check inflation and the Congress leadership was unsuccessfully grappling with the economic fiasco.

The party meanwhile, lashed out at Lalu Prasad for his 'callous' remark against a particular community, which is traditioinally BJP supporter, for the price rise and demanded an explanation from Dr Singh on whether he fully supported the statement of the Railway Minister or if he would demand his resignation.

The BJP also referred to the statement made by Lok Janshakti Party leader and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan that his party would fight election alongwith the UPA and said it had put a question mark on the leadership of Dr Singh.
