UPCC chief writes to Governor in land acquire case
Lucknow, Apr 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rita Bahuguna Joshi today wrote a letter to state Governor T V Rajeswar seeking his intervention into the acquisition of cultivable land for establishing of a University in Banda district.
The district administration is eying a cultivable land at village Gureh (Banda) for making the varsity, Ms Joshi said in a letter representing farmers and labours of the village.
'' Lot of incultivable land was lying idle, which can be acquired for the purpose,'' the letter highlighted.
''I have also been informed that a minister of the UP cabinet has purchased a major part of land around the proposed university with the intention of reaping benefits,'' the Congress leader said.
''Therefore, I seek your intervention, urging you to cancel the permission,'' the letter stated.
It also brought to notice of the Governor the case regarding missing of a senior Journalist Shamendra Kushwaha, who was working with Dainik Jagran, Allahabad and was missing since the last few days.
Some influential BSP leaders are allegedly sheltring the culprits involved in the kidnapping, it added.
