Tirumala temple gets Rs 1.30 Cr worth 'haaram'
Tirumala, Apr 11: The Lord Venkateswara temple here today received a gold 'haaram' valued at Rs 1.30 crore as an offering from a devotee from Hyderabad.
The 12.5 kg gold ornament, 'Lakshmi Kasula Haaram,' was handed over to the temple priest by the devotee, Rajender, in the presence of temple JEO Darma Reddy. Tirumala is the abode of Lord Venkateshwara, one of the Avatars of Lord Vishnu, located atop Seshachala hills often called as "Yaedu Kondalu" (seven hills). The temple of Lord Venkateshwara was built by Telugu Kings to represent Telugu culture. It is the richest and most visited temple (of any faith) in the world.
