State assesing Central measures to curb price rise:Khanduri
Dehra Dun, Apr 11 (UNI) Admitting that the price rise issue was a matter of grave concern, Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri said the state was assessing measures being taken by the Central Government to curb the looming crisis.
In a special meeting called to introspect the gravity of the situation, which also has its repercussions felt among the people in the state, the Chief Minister said the common man should benefit from the steps being taken by the Centre and cited the example of lowering of VAT on gram flour, pulses and medha from Rs 4 to Rs 1.
He said the state government was taking a number of steps to improve the conditions of the drought-affected farmers and proposals to set up camps and provide fertilisers and seeds to them were on the anvil.
