MoU between India and Madagascar on cooperation in the field of agriculture

New Delhi, Apr 11 : The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for the signing of an MoU on agricultural cooperation between Governments of Madagascar and India.

The cooperation between the two countries will be in the fields of agricultural research, agricultural machinery and technology, soil and watershed development, agricultural trade and marketing, plant protection, horticulture, animal husbandry, livestock and fertilizer production.

The MoU will come into force on the day of signing, and will remain valid for a period of five years.

It will automatically be renewed for a subsequent period of five years unless either country notifies the other, in writing, six months before the expiry of the validity period of its intention to terminate it.

MoU will promote further bilateral cooperation through joint activities and exchanges in the areas of agriculture through exchange of scientific delegations and experts between the two countries.
