Liquor being sold in medical shop in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police has seized illicit liquor from a medical shop at Pulwama in south Kashmir, official sources said.
The police searched a medical shop of one Fayaz Ahmad Wani at Tumlahal, Pulwama, last evening on a tip-off that liquor was being sold there, the sources said.

All the wine shops in the Kashmir valley were closed after the eruption of militancy in early 90's. However, after 1996, about a dozen liquor shops reopened, mostly in high security zone areas.
Later, on massive protests by locals, a liquor shop was closed at Alochi Bagh. However, other shops are running at Dalgate and Sonawar areas of the city.
