Kumaraswamy criticises Centre, Cong. for neglecting K'taka
Raichur, Apr 11 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today came down heavily on the Centre and the Congress for ''neglecting'' the interests of the state.
Addressing a public meeting here, he alleged that the Centre was sanctioning irrigation projects and releasing funds for Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. But it was not providing anything to Karnataka, he added.
''The Centre has shown a lot of interest in the Hogenakkal project, but it does not show the same interest in Kalasa Banduri project and favoured Karnataka,'' he said.
Terming the populist programmes mentioned in the Congress manifesto as ''election gimmicks,'' Mr Kumaraswamy wondered what the Congress was doing to get classical status to Kannada.
