Future Group signes Dhoni as brand ambassodor of Big Bazaar
Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) India's newest Test captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been signed on by the country's leading retailer Future Group as the brand ambassador of Big Bazaar, the flagship hypermarket retail chain of of the group, for its extensive collection of fashion apparel.
The group has recently introduced a whole new range of fashion apparel inspired by the seasons' colours and textures. It will feature Dhoni in a series of advertisements across all mass media, to be released shortly, the group said in a release here today.
Dhoni, who today became the Test captain of the Indian team after being the captain of the one-day team for the past one year, was chosen because of his distinctive style statement and also because he represents the aspirations of millions of Indians.
Likewise Big Bazaar, with its mass appeal and unique value proposition, has come to embody the pulse of the country wherever it has opened outlets.
Big Bazaar CEO Rajan Malhotra said ''Fashion has always been seen to be something for the elite. We disagree. Big Bazaar has managed to create the breakthrough by bringing the latest fashion to the masses at affordable price points. The new collection at Big Bazaar will appeal to customers from all walks of life with its trendy designs.'' ''Dhoni and Big Bazaar have a lot of synergies as the Indian captain stands for the aspirations of youth in India, while Big Bazaar is looked up to, by millions of Indians to fulfil their aspirations,'' he said.
