Kanpur, Apr 11 : South Africa were bowled out for 265 on the first day of the third and final cricket Test against India at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Friday.
For the visitors, skipper Graeme Smith top scored with 65, while Hashim Amla hit his eighth Test half century. All the other batsmen failed to get starts and succumbed to the Indian bowlers.
Spinner Harbhajan Singh and paceman Ishant Sharma took three wickets apiece while leg-spinner Piyush alaimed two wickets. Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag claimed a wicket each.
With Test skipper Anil Kumble ruled out of the test with a groin injury, the team is being led by wicketkeeper MS Dhoni.
Earlier, Smith won the toss and elected to bat. Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was included in the Indian team for Kumble. Paceman Ishant Sharma and batsman Yuvraj Singh were recalled into the playing eleven.
The tourists lead the series 1-0 after crushing India by an innings and 90 runs in the second Test in Ahmedabad.
