Yoga panacea to terrorism: Ramdev
Varanasi, Apr 10 (UNI) Yoga guru Swami Ramdev today said the ancient practice may serve as an effective tool to fight violence and terrorism.
Ramdev, who was in the holy city to participate in six day 'Yoga Vigyan Shivir' told mediapersons here '' hatred, tension, arrogance and jealousy take over an anxious and unpeaceful mind, with yoga it is easy to calm the heart and mind.'' He said he had organised yoga shivir in several jails and witnessed a remarkable change in the jail inmates behaviour.
Similarly, negative mind of rerrorists could also be changed with yoga.
Taking strong exception to sex education in schools and colleges, he said, ''it is a by-product of a few people with negative mind set, who wanted to convert educational institution into 'sex centres.' This would result in nothing but degraded and obscene enviornment.'' Not 'sex' but 'yoga' should be made part of teaching curriculum as our young generation is indulging in wrong habits like consuming liquor and drugs, which further result in aggravated behaviour and inclination towards violent and criminal activities, the yoga guru asserted.
Remedy to all such evils is only 'Yoga,' he added.
