SRA houses to be constructed as per national policy: CM
Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said in the Legislative Assembly that the houses under Slum Redevelopment Authority (SRA) will be constructed as per the national policy.
Under SRA, flats available are of 225 sq ft while as per the national policy, they will be 270 sq ft that equates to three rooms.
He said increase in FSI has been proposed in the city and suburbs with a view to ensure houses at lower prices for low and middle income groups.
Speaking on the discussions on the budgetary demands of the housing department, Mr Deshmukh said the Government would construct 10 lakh houses under various schemes in next two years in the state.
Scrapping of Urban Land Ceiling Act will help in reducing the housing prices in the city after two to three years, he added.
He said a regulator will be appointed and will have experts as its members.
