Bhubaneswar, Apr 10 (UNI) The Orissa Government today decided to set up more police stations at important tourist destinations and strengthen the existing ones for security of domestic and international tourists.
Orissa Director General of Police G C Nanda had submitted proposal to the government to set up more police stations at the important tourist destinations in the State.
Home Secretary T K Mishra who held a meeting here later told newspersons that two more police stations would be set up at Puri, one of the major tourist spots in the State.
Mr Mishra said 200 police personnel would be appointed in the Sri Mandhir Police station which would come up close to the famous Jagannath temple.
Another police station would be set up at the Marine drive while patrolling on sea beach and marine drive would be intensified.
The Home Secretary said police station would also be set up at Ramachandi and Chandrabhaga, the two other popular tourist destinations.
