Port Blair, Apr 10 (UNI) The Port Blair Municipal Council(PBMC) has warned against unauthorized construction carried out in violation of the stay order issued by the council here.
The lone civic body of Andaman and Nicobar Islands issued this caution following repeated violation of the order under Port Blair Municipal Building bylaws.
Keeping the public interest in mind, the Council considered it necessary to prevent further unauthorised construction coming up against the stay order issued under the bylaw, Secretary of PBMC Uday Kumar said in an official warning issued here.
The warning said in order to effectively enforce the stay order, the building department of Municipality would take measures to prevent further unauthorised construction and the cost for carrying out the removal of the unauthorised construction shall be recovered from the concerned people as arrears of Municipal revenue as per the procedure.
Meanwhile, since the past week, the PBMC had already taken action in three such cases and prevented further unauthorised construction of three buildings in Port Blair.
''We request all concerned people not to violate the stay order issued by the office,'' Uday Kumar the Secretary of PBMC informed media persons here.
