New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Chairman of AICC Media Department M Veerappa Moily today clarified that the move to put the Hogenakkal project on hold was that of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi's as he felt that there was no elected government in Karnataka.
In a statement, Mr Moily stated that there seemed to be an impression in the media that the decision to put on hold the drinking water project was taken after Congress President Sonia Gandhi personally talked to Mr Karunanidhi.
The Congress President, Mr Moily said, was very much concerned about peace and cordial environment between people of both states and was interested in the settlement of dispute amicably.
Mr Moily said the gesture on the part of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was highly appreciated by the people of Karnataka.
