Maharashtra to set up security commission
Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has decided to set up a state-level security commission, headed by deputy chief minister R R Patil.
A decision to this effect was taken following the guidelines of the Supreme Court, an official release said here today.
The Commission will give policy advice to state government to enhance the working capacity of the police force.
It will consist of Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, chief secretary, additional chief secretary (home) and Director General of Police as member secretary.
The Commission will also have possibly a woman candidate as non-government representative, the release added.
