Encroachments in MHADA colonies to be cleared in a week
Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Maharashtra government today announced that it will clear all the encroachment within a month's time from the MHADA colonies or transit camps across the state.
The announcement was today made by Minister of State for Housing Pritam Kumar Shegaonkar in the state Legislative Council.
The issue was raised by Madhu Chavan (BJP). He alleged that 189 flats in Pratiksha Nagar area of the city have been sold by agents for Rs 1.5 to Rs 4 lakh.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh also announced that MHADA's predecided rates will remain intact.
''MHADA is there to provide houses to low income groups and if it increases the prices as per ready recknor, the purpose is not served'', he added.
The MHADA rates for LIG is Rs 2,100 per sq ft, MIG Rs 2,400 per sq ft, while HIG rate is Rs 2,550 per sq ft.
