Deve Gowda continuing blackmail tactics: BJP
Bangalore, Apr 9 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka unit today described the statement by JD(S) leader Deve Gowda that no party could form a new government in the state without the support of JD (S) as an indicator that he would continue his blackmail tactics in the event of a hung assembly.
Party spokesman Suresh Kumar, in a statement here, alleged that Mr Gowda had realised that his party would surely suffer a defeat in the coming assembly elections in May and was hoping to come to power even if his party won only a handful of seats.
''The people of the state will not forget the blackmail tactics he used following a fractured verdict in the last polls, to come to power,'' he charged.
Mr Gowda is reported to have made the statement at a function yesterday that no one could form the new government in the state without the support of JD(S).
