Citi hires Lehman banker for its Indian investment banking team
New Delhi, Apr 9 (UNI) Citi, leading global financial services firm, today said it has hired Mr Nalin Nayyar, who has worked for Lehman Brothers since 2000, as a Managing Director for its Indian investment banking team.
''Indian companies are increasingly pursuing growth internationally and are actively using the capital markets to support their expansion plans. The hiring of Nalin reflects the increasing opportunities we see to help our clients in India grow'' said Mr Pramit Jhaveri, Head of Global Banking for India.
He, to be based in Mumbai, will work closely with local and regional teams to identify local and global opportunities for Citi's Indian clients, and report to Pramit Jhaveri, Citi's Head of Global Banking (India).
Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr Nayyar had worked at Citi from 1992-2000, after graduating with a BA Economics from Middlebury College Vermont. He also holds a MBA in Finance from UCLA.
Citi, has been operating in the country for years, has advised and provided debt financing for Tata Motors' 2.3 billion dollar deal last month to buy Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor.
