Bihar lawyers withdraw strike following HC's Interim order
Patna, Apr 9 (UNI) The 'indefinite' strike by more than 80,000 lawyers in Bihar was today called off following Patna High Court's interim stay on the hike of court fee by the Bihar government.
Protesting the government's decision, about 55,000 lawyers in all civil courts in the state first went on an indefinite strike on March 14. The strike was supported by about 25,000 Patna High court lawyers, as they also joined the stike on March 31 extending full support to the civil court lawyers demand.
As a result legal activities in all courts throughout the state came to a grinding halt causing severe inconvenience to thousands of people seeking justice.
However, following today's withdrawal of strike all the 80,000 odd lawyers would resume their work from tomorrow.
