''The Trinamool Congress is a recognised party and every political party has the right to know the government's planning and programme, but this government has violated all norms. The Front government should be dismissed immediately and has no moral right to continue in power, '' she stated.
She said, ''The Lok Sabha and Assembly elections can be held in several phases for shifting the outstation forces from one place to another, but the three-phase Panchayat election has never taken place earlier in the state. '' ''Our party believes in democracy and not in politics of muscle power. But the government is trying to destabilise democracy the way it has captured Singur and Nandigram capture,'' she stated.
''We want the Panchayat election be held in a free and fair manner. We never want bloodbath, which happened in the last Panchayat election in which 180 people were killed,'' Ms Banerjee said and ruled out any alliance with the Congress.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress workers put up road blockades in several parts of the city to protest the price rise and threatened of going ahead with the proposed April 21 'Bangla Bandh' if the inflation did not come down.
