Rajnath fires salvo at UPA for failing to control inflation
Basti, Apr 8 (UNI) Launching a scathing attack on Congress led-United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Rajnath Singh today reiterated it had utterly failed rein in inflation.
''The inflation rate has almost doubled in recent times. Such extraordinary situation is presently not witnessed by any country in the world,'' Mr Singh maintained addressing an election meeting at Bakhira (Sant Kabirnagar) of Khalilabad parliamentary segment.
The BJP leader also claimed the UPA has failed on every front.
During the present rule, the wheel of development has gone stagnant...the government has done nothing to check inflation, corruption and terrorism. No one is happy be it farmers, weavers, students, labourers or youth.
''A burnt child dreads fire...therefore, people who were looking for a change chose Mayawati, but she has even left behind erstwhile CM Mulayam Singh Yadav in corruption. Both have embezzled mass wealth,'' he underlined.
Mr Singh added Mayawati was not true to her words. She used to claim of putting Mulayam Singh and SP general secretary Amar Singh behind the bars, but no chargesheet had been prepared against them till yet.
He further claimed that at present, BJP was the only party, which was in a position to form the next government at the Centre.
