Kurukshetra, Apr 8 (UNI) The body of a missing young trader was found floating in the holy Brahamsarovar this morning leading to strong protests by a large number of people.

The body of Saurav alias Sunny (20), a foodgrains trader, missing since April 5, was sighted floating in the Brahmasarover by some morning walkers, who took out the semi-naked corpse.

Enraged people, including the relatives of the deceased, carried the body to block the traffic on the Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar state highway on the railway flyover, shouting anti-police and anti-government slogans.

The police had a tough time in managing the traffic flow through alternative routes to and from the city in the morning.

Infuriated traders and others have demanded a thorough probe into this incident of kidnapping-and-murder and refused to give the body for post-mortem till their demands were met for action against the guilty named in the FIR and the policemen for dereliction of duty.

Father of the deceased, Phool Chand, a resident of Vishnu Colony, had yesterday lodged the FIR against two persons named Rajiv and Madan Lal in connection with his missing son.

Meanwhile, the doctors at the Civil Hospital here recommended that postmortem should be conducted by a panel of doctors and hence the body was shifted to the PGI Rohtak, the Medical Superintendent Dr Jagmal Singh said.
