OBC students to get 100 pc scholarship in vocational courses
Mumbai, Apr 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Government today announced awarding hundred per cent scholarship to OBC students seeking admission in vocational courses.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, making this announcement in the Legislative Council, said this issue will be discussed in the cabinet meeting and an action plan will be made shortly in this regard.
He said currently OBC students get 50 per cent scholarship and the same will be extended to 100 per cent for which the state will create a separate fund.
The issue of 100 per cent scholarship was raised by Sudhakar Gangane and Sanjay Dutt (both Congress), who demanded 100 per cent scholarship for over 5 lakh OBC students in the state.
