Chandigarh, Apr 8 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for May 19 to the CBI on the bail plea of former Moga district police chief Davinder Singh Garcha now lodged in central jail, Patiala allegedly involved in what has come to be known as Moga sex scam.
The notice was issued by Justice Mahesh Grover while hearing the bail plea.
Denying any role or link in the matter, Garcha has pointed out that on the registration of FIR in this connection at Moga which was later on referred to CBI, he was not SSP Moga and had been transferred out from there. Also, the accused Manpreet Kaur's statement under 164 CrPC and earlier under 161 CrPC has not leveled any allegation of either demanding or getting any money so far he was concerned and refers to an alleged broker namely Simran Kaur who failed to give her money and also speaks of Inspector Raman Kumar or SHO Amarjit Singh as the persons involved.
Even on February 26 when CBI raided his residence, nothing incriminating was found to connect him to the demand or recovery of money. Incidentally, Raman Kumar, Amarjit Singh as also Paramdeep Singh Sandhu SP are out on bail and he was the only one in jail in this case, it was argued by Garcha's counsel.
