Islamabad, Apr 8 (UNI) Restoration of deposed judges without reinstating Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will not be accepted, Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan has warned.
No ''package or formula'' that did not include the restoration of all the judges would be accepted, he said, adding, ''A judge going to his office without Iftikhar Chaudhry would be considered a PCO judge.'' Addressing the District Bar Association, he said lawyers of the country will organise a long march if the government failed to meet the deadline of the restoration of the sacked judiciary within 30 days of its formation.
Pakistan Federal Minister for Law, Farooq H Naik, had ensured that deposed judges would be restored according to people's aspiration, adding, no proposal to reduce the tenure of the superior court judges was being considered. He had requested people to observe restraint, saying the process for restoration would be resolved within 30 days, the News reported.
Mr Ahsan said the lawyers would announce their future course of action after 30 days. He said Parliament and the political parties could enjoy a safe future if they restored Mr Chaudhry and other judges.
