Kathmandu, Apr 8 (UNI) The Election Commission has received 229 complaints from three big parties about violation of the election code of conduct and attacks by opposition parties, EC spokesman Laxman Bhattarai said.

Of these, 98 were filed by the CPN-UML, 72 by NC and 59 by the Maoists.

The EC has asked the Home Ministry to take action against those involved in 131 of the incidents,'' local media quoted Bhattarai as saying.

Meanwhile, even after the formal campaign for the polls was completed last night, CPN-Maoist violated the recently signed 10-point agreement with Nepali Congress and CPN-UML and continued attacking activists of other parties today, the Kantipur reported.

''At least four NC cadres were seriously injured in Maoist attack at paper in Tanahun district this morning'', the Kantipur said in its online edition.

Around 150 cadres of Maoist youth front Young Communist League, who came from Lamjung district following yesterday's clash, surrounded the village and attacked the NC activists this morning, the paper quoted police as saying.

Police Inspector Krishna Adhikari said that the exact figure of the YCL cadres has not been confirmed as the search operation was still ongoing.

Four persons are undergoing treatment at Damauli hospital and the remaining eight at Lamjung, it said.

However, Maoist Tanahun district in-charge Hari Chuman said that the details of the incident are still to come.

Three NC cadres went missing yesterday, and 12 others were injured in a scuffle with the Maoists at Sundar bazaar, while they were returning after attending an assembly addressed by Govinda Raj Joshi, NC candidate for CA polls from Tanahun constituency-1, at Bhanu, the paper said.

In yet another incident today, 12 NC activists were injured in YCL attack at far-flung Korthar VDC in Nawalparasi district.

Among the injured, Tek Bahadur Ale, Yam Bahadur Ale, Lok Bahadur Shrestha and Ramesh Thapa were in critical state, according to the report.

Nepali Congress candidate Man Bahadur Bishwokarma and eight other activists were injured in an attack carried out by the Maoist cadres at Balkot in Arghakhanchi in western Nepal.

The whereabouts of five injured NC activists were unknown, the party said.

The election for the CA is taking place on April 10 that will write a new constitution and decide the fate of monarchy in Nepal.
