Kolkata, Apr 8 (UNI) A city civil court today refused to give free tickets to the 31,000 Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) members for the coming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
Judge Anindita Roy Saraswati of the City Civil Court did not pass any interim order on the application made by Cricket Members Forum of Bengal for giving free tickets to the associate, life and annual members of CAB.
The court also did not entertain their prayer for an injunction on distribution and sale of tickets from April 20.
Forum convenor Avijit Sarkar said they were moving High Court challenging the verdict.
The petitioners had contended that according to CAB rule 15 Sec-2, life, annual and associate members were entitled to watch all matches - except charity ties - at Eden Gardens free of cost.
Red Chilies Entertainment is the franchisee owner of the team 'Kolkata Knight Riders' that would organise the matches at the Eden as per IPL rules.
CAB was the facilitator for the games.
