UK for boosting anti-terror ties with Pakistan: British Home Secretary
Islamabad, Apr 7 : British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith on Monday said that her country was "urgently" looking at ways to enhance anti-terrorism ties with the new Pakistani Government.
"I know that the incoming government of Pakistan wants to do more, so do I," said Smith, adding, "We have already provided much, but we will urgently consider what more can be done to enhance our joint work."
Urging the people in both countries to "speak out against the terrorist world view," she said that Pakistan and Britain "both face a threat from al-Qaeda and other violent extremists."
Britain is already providing development aid to Pakistan; especially for its troubled tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, The News quoted Smith, as saying.
