Moscow, Apr 7 (UNI) The State Duma, the lower house of Russian parliament, will approve outgoing President Vladimir Putin as the Prime Minister on May 8.
''We are waiting for May 7 when the new President-elect Dmitry Medvedev will be sworn into office, and then on May 8, the candidature of Mr Vladimir Putin, who heads the list of the United Russia bloc, will be endorsed as the Prime Minister,'' house speaker Boris Gryzlov told journalists today.
Mr Gryzlov is also the chairman of the ruling United Russia party.
He said the United Russia party would be able to ensure continuity of outgoing President Vladimir Putin's course.
