Police resort to lathi charge to quell violent mob
Mysore, Apr 7 (UNI) Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse two groups clashed over the issue of entry into a temple at Jakkanahalli Village near Srirangapatna in Mandya District this morning.
Police sources said the clash occurred when a group of people belonging to one community tried to enter a temple which was objected to by those of an another community.
The police resorted to lathi charge and lobbed tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.
Additional police forces have been rushed to the village which is still tense, sources added.
