NSTEDB appoints EDI as NIMAT
Gandhinagar, Apr 7 (UNI) The National Science&Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) and Department of Science&Technology, Government of India, has appointed Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) as its National Implementating&Monitoring Agency (NIMAT).
Talking to mediapersons here today, EDI Director Dr Dinesh Avasthi said the EDI as NIMAT will coordinate and monitor the programmes for promoting entrepreneurship amongst Science&Technology target group through HRD and Entrepreneurship Development Strategy at the national level.
Dr Avasthi said the EDI will work as a vital link between the NSTEDB and Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC), Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park (STEP), State Entrepreneurship Development Organisations, NGOs and other implementing agencies for conducting the programmes.
NIMAT will play a major role in coordinating and organising Advisory Committee Meetings, conducting Monitoring Committee Meetings, preparing progress reports and submitting them to the NSTEDB, he added.
The EDI Director said the institution aimed to create entrepreneurs to have competitive edge using science and technology to make products having high quality and low price.
The Department of Science and Technology also has plans to set up 45 Incubation Centre across India to collect new ideas and notions to generate new employment opportunities, Dr Avasthi added.
