Murder case filed against 7 policemen in Raj
Chittorgarh, Apr 7 (UNI) A case of murder has been filed against seven police personnel, including a Station House Officer(SHO), in connection with alleged custodial death of a drug trafficker.
District Superintendent of Police Mahesh Goyal said the case had been lodged at the Chanderia police station in the district on the basis of a complaint filed by a relative of the deceased Teja Ram Jat(25), whose body was found near Bojunda village two days back.
The complainant had alleged that Jat, who was a truck driver, was nabbed by Shambhupura police with Opium and other contrabands.
The accused was allegedly beaten to death by the personnel at the Shambhupura police station and later the body was dumped in a mining pit near Bojunda, Mr Goyal said.
Accordingly, a case under sections 143,201 and 302 of the Indian Penal Code had been registered against Shambhupura police station SHO Dalpat Singh and constables Raes Mohammad, Shakeel Mohammad, Devi Lal, Ram Singh, Jitendra Singh and Dariyab Singh, the SP added.
