India, Bangladesh border coordination conference from tomorrow
New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Influx of Bangladeshi nationals into India, training of Indian insurgent groups in the neighbouring country and smuggling of weapons and narcotics are some of the issues that the border guards of the two nations would take up when they resume talks here tomorrow.
The border coordination conference between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) would commence at the BSF headquarters from here tomorrow.
A strong 21-member Bangladeshi delegation, led by Major General Shakil Ahmed will deliberate on the vital issues related to border coordination with the Indian team headed by BSF Director General A K Mitra.
Bilateral issues of mutual interest such as influx of Bangladeshi nationals into India, obstruction to development works within 150 yards from the international border, smuggling of cattle, weapons, narcotics and fake Indian currency notes would be taken up for deliberations at the Conference.
Indian insurgent groups in Bangladesh, inadvertent and advertent crossing of international border by BDR personnel and that country's nationals into India, boundary pillars related matters and more confidence building measures were the other vital issues to be discussed threadbare at the meeting.
