Bill to set up Ravishankar University soon to be moved
Bhubaneswar, Apr 7 (UNI) Orissa government will move a bill in the coming session of the Assembly to facilitate setting up of the Sri Sri Ravishankar university.
A decision in this regard was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today.
Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting Chief Secretary Ajit Tripathy said the government had already provided around 186 Acres of land at Naraj in Cuttack district for the university.
The university would be self financing by nature and would not depend on government assistance. Besides Arts, Commerce and Science the university would impart education in Engineering, Medicine, Music, Home Science and Bio Technology.
The proposed university would enroll 15,000 students and around 1,500 people would be recruited to manage the day-to-day function of the university.
The Cabinet also decided that the Lok Pal would get the house rent, travelling allowance and pension at par with the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
The government amended Section 5 sub-section V the Orissa Lok Pal condition of service rule for the purpose, Mr Tripathy said.
