Siddharthnagar, Apr 6 (UNI) Elaborate security arrangements have been made here for the peaceful conduct of Khalilabad Lok Sabha byelection, scheduled to be held on April 12.
Twenty-one companies of para-military force, and six companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) would be deployed in the area, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Basti range, P V Ramashastri said.
The constituency area has been divided into 12 zones and 75 sectors for strict vigil, the DIG informed.
Besides, 50 and 30 barricades would be made outside and inside the constituency's border area, which would be opened 48 hours before the polling.
Four armed policemen would be deployed at each voting centre, while para-military forces would be garrisoned at sensitive places, Mr Ramashastri said.
So far, as many as 15,000 people were found accused of disturbing peace and nearly 3,500 licensed weapons submitted, he added.
