Chandigarh, Apr 6 (UNI) Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Secretary General Raja Randhir Singh has been nominated on three commissions of the International Olympic Commission (IOC) for 2008.
He is a member of the Coordination Commission for the first Youth Olympic Summer Games to be held in 2010. Sergey Bubka is the chairman of the commission, according to information received here today.
The other members of the commission are: Syed Shahid Ali, Guido de Bondt, Frank Fredericks, Nat Indrapana and Andrew Ryan.
Former Olympian shooter Raja Randhir Singh, who is also Secretary General of the Asian Olympic Committee, has also been nominated on another IOC Commission -- 25-member Women and Sports Commission, with Anita Defrantz as chairperson.
In recognition to his service to promote Olympic Movement, Raja Randhir Singh has also been nominated on the Sports for All Commission, headed by Walther Troger.
Twenty seven IOC commissions for 2008 have now been finalised and their role is to guide the IOC and the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games in their missions.
