NTPC to generate 2,09,000 MUs of Electricity in 2008-09
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Power generation major National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd has said it will generate 2,09,000 MUs of Electricity in the financial year 2008-09.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Power Secretary Anil Razdan and NTPC CMD T Sankaralingam, said a statement.
The MoU includes targets of important milestones related to ongoing projects of NTPC Limited namely Sipat-I (3X660 MW) , Barh (3X660 MW), Korba III (1X500 MW) and Simhadri II (2X500 MW).
It also includes Dadri II (2X490 MW), Farakka- III (1X500 MW), Koldam HEPP (4X200 MW) , Lohari nag Pala HEPP (4X150 MW) and Tapovan- Vishnugad HEPP (4X130 MW) and targets for coal mining activities, the company said in a statement.
In addition, targets relating to Total Quality Management, Human Resource Development, Business Development Activities (including activities of Gas Exploration, Distributed Generation, R&R, ERP and subsidiaries of NTPC i.e. NVVN, NESCL, NHL, Vaishali Power), R&D and Energy Technology, Project Management Certification, Ash Utilization and Environment measures are also part of MoU (2008-09).
Fuelled by vision to be a world class integrated power major, powering India's growth, with increasing global presence, NTPC plans to be a 75,000 MW plus company by 2017.
