Kolhapur artist plays lead role in Marathi film after a decade
Kolhapur, Apr 6 (UNI) After a gap of 10 to 12 years, a Marathi artist from Kolhapur is seen playing lead role in a Marathi film ''Bhajeewalee Sakhu Hawaldar Bhiku'' that released here on Friday.
Sanjay Mohite, a young stage artist, known for his role in a drama ''Sokajirao Tangmare'', is making his debut with the film. The film is a musical comedy, highlighting duties of a policeman and various social problems, Mohite's brothers and the film's producers, Subhash and Prakash Hilage told UNI, here today.
''People in Maharashtra still love late actor Dada Kondke's films and this encouraged us to produce such a film, they said.
Wellknown actress Surekha Kudchee is playing the lead role alongwith Mohite, while Ashok Saraf plays a comic role of a traffic policeman in the film.
