New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) In a bid to increase the tourist inflow from China to India, the Union Government has set up an India tourism Office in Beijing, which will be inaugurated by Minister for Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni tomorrow.

With 62,330 Chinese travellers visiting India in 2006, the number has seen a steady increase over the last four years from 21,152 tourists in 2003.

This will be the 14th overseas office for the Ministry of Tourism and has been set up as per agreed plan of action for India-China Friendship Year Celebrations during 2007, an official statement said.

Earlier, the China Government had set up a China National Tourist Office here in August 2007.

China has emerged as one of the top 15 tourist generating markets for India and has a 1.4 per cent share in arrivals, it added.
