Haryana govt takes stock of damage to wheat due to rains
Chandigarh, Apr 6 (UNI) The Haryana government is assessing the damage to the wheat crop due to recent rains and hail storm.
This was disclosed by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while talking to mediapersons after performing yajana and paying obeisance at Shri Mata Mansa Devi shrine in Panchkula on the occasion of the first Navratra today.
Mr Hooda said he would urge the Central Government to give bonus on wheat to the farmers.
When asked to comment whether the country was heading for mid term poll, he said he expected that elections would be held on schedule. However, he added, the Congress in Haryana was prepared for snap polls.
In reply to a question concerning bye elections to three assembly seats which have fallen vacant recently, Mr Hooda said the Congress was prepared and it would win all the three seats.
