Call for unity among Vaishya Samaj members to get power share

Patna, Apr 6 (UNI) Akhil Bhartiya Vaishya Mahasammelan today called for unity among the members of the Vaishya Samaj to get their due representation in power and legislative bodies including parliament and state assemblies across the country.

In a rally organised at historic Gandhi Maidan here, the president of the Mahasmmelan Girish Kumar Sanghi said the members of the Vaishya Samnaj should maintain rock like unity to achieve their goal of getting due representations in power.

''It is not sufficient that some members of the Vaishya Samaj are ministers at the Centre and in states, they should also occupy the post of Chief Minister in states'', he said adding the aim would remain unfulfilled if the message of unity was not propagated in far flung areas.

He announced to give Rs 2 crores from the Mahasammelan for construction of a hostel in Patna for students of the Vaishya Community.

He exhorted the members of the Vaishya Samaj to take advantage of the loans being distributed by the various nationalised banks to promote their business.

''They should also participate and cooperate with the government in implementation of the various welfare and development schemes of the government'', he added.

Speaking on the occasion, union minister of company affairs Prem Gupta said the Vaishya Samaj had contributed a lot to the nation in pre and post independence era of the community. He exhorted the business community to remain united to achieve their goal of getting due representation in power.

Addressing the rally, Bihar deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said the Nitish Kumar government had done commendable works in the interests of the Vaishya community. He said the NDA government had removed taxes to be levied in Bazar Samitis and reduced the taxes on several items resulting into increase in their business.

''Nitish Kumar government had established the rule of law in Bihar and businessmen were now feeling safe which was not the case during the previous Lalu-Rabri regime in the state'', Mr Modi said and added that they had been allowed to open their units seven days a week.

Earlier,the businessmen had to renew the registration of their units periodically after certain duration, he said adding the practice was now over as they would not be required to apply for renewal once it was registered.
