UNPA-Left joint protest against price rise from Apr 16
Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) will join hands with the Left parties for launching a nation-wide protest against skyrocketing prices of essential commdities from April 16.
UNPA convener and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, after a telephonic talk with CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat, told a press conference here that a workshop would be held in New Delhi on April 19 to analyse the reasons for the over 300 to 400 per cent rise in prices of all commodities and come out with ways to combat it.
He said the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government at the Centre and the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh had ''totally failed'' to prevent black marketing and making the life of poor people more miserable.
The party politburo would meet on April seven to discuss price rise and rampant corruption in the state.
